No student should have to study while worrying about hunger. As food costs rise, more students than every rely on the food bank of their campus to make it through the semester. Glendon College of York University is one such community, with students from all walks of life who also are in need of food. Many of these students also have religious, health-based, or practical restrictions on what they can eat, making it that much harder focus on what they should be doing as students; learning.
The North Toronto Cluster of Churches is working with Glendon College to give students grocery cards so they can buy their own fresh food.
Together, we can make sure that no student is studying on an empty stomach or an empty fridge.
